Home of the Unicornus Rex

I’ve been around for a long time. My name is Jack Frost. I love being on my own. No rules. No responsibility. This is good as it is sound.

I watched Pacific Rim again and Hermann cracks me up cuz he acts like he’s the straight man to Newton’s stooge, but literally everyone knows it’s like comparing the maturity of a 6 year old to a 5 year old

what was your hands down favorite part of JiM? PS, everything burns, that bit at the end where kid loki hugs thor? that was the very first time a comic ever made me cry and it was also the kid loki run that got me into the comics in general (which i've discovered as my passion and my calling, so thank you! pps, there's this line in JiM where freyja tells loki that he can vilify a woman without using language specifically made to vilify women, and i really loved that line from her.)

Thank you. All those beats you list are beats I loved as well. Matt’s invention of the All-mother was the key to JIM’s feminist heart, y’know?

The easy answer is the whole of the last issue. If you had to nail it down, the last page. I’d been leading there for a long time, and fought battles to be here, and finally got to do it. Awful and perfect.

There was a lot of awful and perfect in Everything Burns. Writing the scenes with the enormous dramatic weight behind was killer - Loki’s fake-heel-turn confession to Leah, Loki’s confession to Thor (I WAS ONLY TRYING TO HELP), the narrative captions as Loki writes Leah free, Loki’s “Kill me” to Thor.

Leah and Loki at the end of Manchester Gods would be filed in there. “Did you really think it could be true?”

I’ve still got a lot of time for the opening sequence of the first issue. That was a confident opening.

Then there’s all the odd stuff I got away with - that I got to turn Tony Wilson into a marvel character! All the Sandman in-jokes in THE TERRORISM MYTH! The V-for-vendetta masked Loki blowing up Britain’s past with a “Symbolism is important”!

Very lucky, in short.

But one? The last two pages.
